(HLN) Zanna Huff never goes to the grocery store without first consulting her coupon binder.

Although a self-proclaimed "thrifty thinker," Huff admits she didn't start couponing until she saw TLC's hit show, "Extreme Couponing." The reality series profiles people who leave store shelves empty and their wallets full. Driven by the lousy economy, the show has spawned a new wave of frugal-frenzied shoppers looking to pay next-to-nothing for a lot of something. However, extreme couponers are now facing new rules at the register that may render less-than-rewarding receipts. The rising trend has retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, Rite-Aid and Kroger changing their regulations to combat the raid on retail.
